Party Structure at ALA Hoosier Girls State
- Following registration, the first step at ALA Hoosier Girls State will be to set up the Political Party Structure. In each city, each party will elect Precinct Committeemen, Vice-Precinct Committeemen, one City Chairman and one City Vice-Chairman. (This is completed Sunday night)
- The Precinct Committeemen and Vice-Committeemen serve as voting delegates to the County Convention, where they will elect a County Chairman, County Vice-Chairman, County Secretary and a County Treasurer for their political party. (This is done Monday morning)
- The City Chairmen along with the County Chairmen and County Vice-Chairmen are part of the State Central Committee. This group elects the State Party Officers who are a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. (This election is Monday afternoon)
- This is the basic Political Party set-up at ALA HGS. The District Party organization is bypassed at ALA Hoosier Girls State because of time, space and personnel.
- If you are elected to any of the above party structure positions at ALA HGS, check the “May File For” and “May Not File For” sheet for the elected government offices you may file for. Due to time elements at ALA HGS, certain party and political offices may not be held by the same citizen.
